Description:

Frontend for xrandr. Allows to switch resolutions on the fly.

Changelog:

should handle screen-names with '/' correctly now.

automatically detects current configuration at start-up. Reduces calls to xrandr (which made my external screen flicker).

 Very Nice

by DavidEdmundson on: Nov 26 2007

Seems to work fine for me, quite nice and simple.

Suggestions for version 0.2:
Either populate the resolution choices list, when it loads, or have the dropdown default to a blank name. It's confusing seeing the name "VGA" in the dropdown, but not having any options.

 xramdr resolution sc

by jlambrec on: Feb 24 2008

Running Suse 10.3 on IBM laptop T43P.
I invoked it with: kmdr-executor 70521-xramdr.kmdr but I never see anything in the resolution screens. When I change the checkmark in screen 2 "activate" the following occurs:
Trying echo 'LVDS' | sed 's/\(.\)/[&]/g' | sed 's/\[\^\]/\\^/g'
Trying awk '/^[L][V][D][S] connected [0-9x+-]+ / {print $3}' << EOF
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 1920 x 1200
VGA-0 connected 1280x1024+0+0 (normal left inverted right) 338mm x 270mm
1280x1024 60.0*+ 75.0
1024x768 75.1 70.1 60.0
832x624 74.6
800x600 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2
640x480 75.0 72.8 66.7 60.0
720x400 70.1
DVI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right)
LVDS connected 1280x1024+0+0 (normal left inverted right) 0mm x 0mm
1280x1024_60.00 60.0*+
1600x1200 60.0 +
1024x768 60.0
800x600 60.3
640x480 59.9
S-video disconnected (normal left inverted right)
1024x768_60 (0x61) 64.1MHz
h: width 1024 start 1080 end 1184 total 1344 skew 0 clock 47.7KHz
v: height 768 start 769 end 772 total 795 clock 60.0Hz
EOF
Trying echo '1280x1024+0+0' | sed 's/^[0-9x]*//'
Does it make sense? Still nothing shows up in the resolution screens.
The radio buttons to the right do not seem to have any impact. Typing xrandr commands in the bottom screen does work.

Thank you!
Jean-Paul

I think (but I'm not yet sure) you have named some modes in your xorg.conf file, and my greps... don't recognize them now.
Could you please send me the output of xrandr. I'll try to have a look at it as soon as possible.

actually the xrandr-output is already printed here. So never mind my last comment.

 Resol Screens Empty

by jlambrec on: Feb 26 2008

Following off-line communication with the design team and its recommendation, problem has been solved by updating to KDE 3.5.9 (release 51.2). Instructions are on http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/Upgrade.

Thank you!
Jean-Paul
